We visited Costa Rica in February 2018 and booked a trip to see the mangrove and Damas Island. Our guide was Fabio and he was very knowledgeable and friendly. He seemed just as excited to try to locate birds as we did. And he did not disappoint. This was a relaxing boat trip (covered top) and it was very relaxing after numerous walking and hiking trips!

We went on this tour of the damas island mangrove with tour guide William. He showed us the different types of mangroves and explained how the three main mangroves types work together so they all bolster each other to survive the harsh saline conditions, as well as the importance of the mangroves overall to the water and air quality. We saw many monkeys, crabs, and birds, as well as a mangrove boa constrictor. Everyone was very professional and knowledgeable, and the food served was delicious. Overall a great tour!
