  • 5 star ratingWonderful experience! We used this tour for the Manuel Antonio National Park -- highly recommend using a tour/guide for this park. It's quite literally impossible to spot anything without their trained eye.

This tour service is fantastic. They offer a pick up option from your hotel/resort. They first offer a delicious breakfast, fresh coffee, before actually taking you to the National Park. In our case, even before entering the park, our talented naturalist guide, Allan Castillo, spotted 2 sloths, high above in the trees, dozing. It's a meditative experience, watching these animals.

In the park itself, we walked for about 2 - 2.5 hours, and Allan spotted rarely seen birds, more sloths, a baby crocodile, several iguanas, capuchin and howler monkeys, and other mammals we've never seen before that I can't even remember now. I felt quite privileged being able to see through the foliage into the real Costa Rica. He used an excellent scope to enable you to peer into this hidden world.

I should mention there is a beach and you're given about 45 min for any swimming/beach activities that you'd like. Finally, they give you a yummy lunch, more coffee if you want any, and then drop you back to your hotel/resort. The total pick up to drop off time for this tour will be close to 8 hours.

Highly recommend this experience with this tour company!

5 star ratingGreat adventure even without horseback riding experience Absolutely amazing! Our guide, Hugo, made the adventure a great time and one of our favorite things that we did in CR. Hugo was very professional. I do not have horseback riding experience, and I loved it. Highly recommend! A couple notes: wear long pants, bring a swimsuit, and bring a camera or cell phone for pictures.

5 star ratingTucanes Damas Island Mangrove kayaking tour We enjoyed our kayaking tour of the Damas Island area. We were a group of 11 siblings and spouses and we thought that would be all in this group, but they added 4 more people, so we felt the group was big, though our guides Alan and Johan did well to keep us together. We found this tour fun and informative, though we saw only a few animals. But we didn’t expect to see a lot as this was not that kind of tour. Kayaking was fun. The breakfast afterwards was delicious.

4 star ratingOcean Kayaking & Snorkeling Tour It was a great day and timed just right.
The kayaking was beautiful and just long enough.
We enjoyed snorkeling for 30 minutes and saw lots of great fish. Day was beautiful!!

  • 5 star ratingRadting Amazing experience the tour guides were so nice so chill and so awesome to just chill with. If you wanted to be crazy they were down to go nuts but if not u could also just chill. We flipped a bunch of times making the experience so much fun. It’s very very safe and they know exactly what they are doing. Highly recommend this.

5 star ratingGreat way to spend an afternoon We had so much fun on our trip. We were on our honeymoon and were looking to get out and go on a bit of adventure and this trip definitely scratched that itch. The kayaking was the perfect challenge level for us, just enough to break a sweat and get a light workout in but not too strenuous. The views from the ocean were stunning, and gave a really unique perspective not viewable from the beach alone. Our guide, Ceasar (aka Aquaman) was super friendly and made the trip that much more fun. He was very knowledgeable and had a contagious enthusiasm. We also really liked our driver nicknamed 'Plastico'. After spending alot of the time eating at the hotel, the home-cooked meal we had was a great change of pace for us. Overall would really recommend.

5 star ratingGreat Tours We used Toucanes Tours twice while in the Quepos area.We had Daniel Bolanos as a guide in the park and he was great. Highly recomend getting a guide or you will walk out of there seeing very little. They realy bring the park to life for you. Also did the Mangrove Kayaking Tour, it is crowded but fun. Everyone you meet at Toucanes Tours is very knowledgable and their Tours are dependable.

5 star ratingCoastal rainforest safari A wonderful and informative experience of this unique national park led by Daniel Bolanos. On the way to the park, Daniel was willing to point out interesting sites and give us valuable historic information. Once in the park he spotted snakes, sloths, lizards and various birds and their interaction with the environment. He used a strong telescope and was patiently taking pictures with our iPhones. We were also able to enjoy 45 minutes soaking in the Pacific Ocean on a secluded beach with beautiful surroundings. The breakfast and lunch gave us a taste of traditional Costa Rican food. The pick up and drop off was timely and added to the enjoyment. We needed to be transferred to a shuttle taking us to Fortuna and Daniel arranged this effortlessly.
